House of Pies has always been a go to for punks and goths after a gig, event, or a night on the town. It’s a great place to wind down or meet up for the night to start. The atmosphere is like a small town diner in the 50’s or 60’s and that adds to the charm. I hadn’t visited this location in 15 years and when I returned it was like an old friend waiting for me that remained just like I remembered them. Nostalgia level at 100% The food has a wide variety of sweets, cookies, and cakes to choose from that are made fresh daily. And the menu is standard fare Americana done just right. The staff is a more mature crowd and they are always very hospitable and courteous. If you don’t already know about House of Pies go there and give them your patronage. These are the kind of places you do not want to disappear off the landscape of Houston, as it would do the city a great disservice.

We ate dinner somewhere else but came here because the restaurant didn’t have key lime pie. We ordered both key lime and strawberry rhubarb a la mode to share. It was so good. Caesar was our server. He was friendly, fast, and efficient!!!

It was Sunday night around 8pm and we were seated right away. Our waiter was super friendly and brought us waters and coffees right away. I personally ordered the Texas pecan chocolate pie and it was so decadent! The chocolate was extremely rich and had a fudge-y consistency. Would recommend coming here to have a dessert with your friends to end a night of socializing. It’s a chill place to hangout and eat some good pie.

It was busy but the service was still good. The waitress was still able to check on us a couple times. My drink never went past half a cup before it was filled again. Very friendly and family friendly environment.

The sugar free apple pie allows you to enjoy more of the apple and spices flavor. A la mode gives you a large scoop of ice cream! The 2nd time I visited I thoroughly enjoyed the banana split. Two could share it. It's that big!

Love this place. Been here countless times. Breakfast is always good. Service is attentive and friendly, and the pies of course are absolutely delicious. I enjoy the coconut cream pie and bayou goo, good milkshakes, and large drink glasses and I could go on for days.

Portions are wonderful free coffee refills and exceptional service! Chicken fried chicken with house gravy is my all time favorite. When I need to southern comfort breakfast I always come to HoP any and every time over a waffle house, Dennys, or IHOP. Definitely my favorite dinner hands down. Look at the number of reviews! No one even comes close! 6k and counting!
